Police investigating shooting incident in Harrisonburg

HARRISONBURG, Va. (WHSV) — Officers with the Harrisonburg Police Department responded to a shooting early Tuesday, March 16. The incident reportedly happened around 7 a.m. on South Main Street in the area of Interstate 81 exit 243.

Police were investigating at both the Super 8 motel and Ramada by Wyndham.

According to HPD, a man in his 30s with a gunshot wound to his abdominal area was located in the vicinity of Mosby Court. The victim was transferred to the University of Virginia Medical Center, where his condition is reported as stable.

Authorities believe this was an isolated incident, but they are still investigating.

No information about a suspect was made available.

Harrisonburg Va. - At approximately 6:45 am. officers with the Harrisonburg Police Department responded to the 3300 block of S. Main St. after receiving a call of an apparent gunshot wound. A male in his 30′s, with a gunshot wound to his abdominal area, was later located in the vicinity of Mosby Ct. and was taken by ambulance and subsequently transported to UVA Medical Center. His condition is reported as stable.

HPD’s Major Crimes Unit (MCU) responded and is investigating at this time. This appears to be an isolated incident.
