Albemarle Co. offers free WiFi at Greenwood Community Center

ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (WVIR) -The Greenwood Community Center in Albemarle County is now offering free WiFi usage in the parking lot and surrounding area of the center.

“We just thought this would be a great opportunity for the people out there,” Albemarle County Recreation Program Supervisor Joe Clark said.

The center also hopes to offer WiFi accessibility sometime the week of January 18, though it will be restricted to one individual/family at a time.

Indoor WiFi will be offered on Mondays and Wednesdays by reservation at the following times:

  • 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m.
  • 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.
  • 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
  • 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Clark says they hope to be able to add a few more locations inside the community center, as well as more reservation times if things go well.

Reservations must be made at least 24 hours in advance by emailing or calling (434) 466-3389.

There will be one way in and one way out, someone will take your temperature before entering, and you are required to wear a mask. The area will be sanitized between users.
