CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) - The Blue Ridge Health District, which includes Charlottesville and Albemarle County, is now reporting the highest rate of positive coronavirus cases since mid-April.
BRHD’s spokesperson Kathryn Goodman tells NBC29 this significant increase is likely linked to community spread. She says cases have been on the rise since Thanksgiving.
This week, a surge in new cases can be attributed to holiday gatherings and travel around Christmas and New Year’s.
