Waynesboro Police Dept. investigating report of gunshots fired at residence

WAYNESBORO, Va. (WHSV) — The Waynesboro Police Department took to Facebook to alert the public about an incident that occurred on Madison Street in Waynesboro.

According to the post, officials responded to the 1600 block of Madison Street on a report of several gunshots fired. The post says officials discovered a residence had been shot with gunfire and an unknown vehicle fled the area.

The incident is under investigation, and anyone with information is asked to contact the Waynesboro Police Department at 540-942-6675 or Crime Stoppers at 800-322-2017.
