Charlottesville Police Chief to address strings of recent violence in press conference Thursday

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) - Charlottesville Police plan to hold a news conference Thursday to discuss the recent outbreak of gun violence in the city.

This comes after two reports of shots fired late Tuesday night. The first happened on 6th Street SE, and the second happened on Prospect Avenue.

Emergency crews treated one woman at the scene on Prospect Avenue for minor injuries.

This marks the eighth report of gun violence in the city since November 5, 2020.

Charlottesville Police will live-stream the news conference at 11 a.m. Thursday on its Facebook page.
