Former UVA Men’s Lacrosse player in hospital following longboarding accident

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) - A former University of Virginia men’s lacrosse player is in the hospital following a recent longboarding accident.

According to his sister Casey Bocklet’s Instagram page, Chris Bocklet suffered a severe head injury.

On Sunday, Dec. 3 she posted: “Chris has moved out of the ICU into a step down trauma unit down the hall.”

He was a member of the 2011 UVA National Championship Team and continued to play professionally.

There is a gofundme page set up to help pay for some of the expenses associated with his recovery. It has currently raised over $120,000.
