COVID-19 vaccine clinic expected to open in former Kmart parking lot Jan. 6

ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (WVIR) - Frontline workers will soon be heading to the parking lot for the former Kmart in Albemarle County to get COVID-19 vaccines.

A spokesperson for the Blue Ridge Health District says the tent will begin serving as a vaccination clinic Wednesday, January 6. The goal of the clinic is to decrease the time it takes to vaccinate people in each phase, ultimately speeding up the process.

The tent was constructed by the Skyline Tent Company, Martin Horn, and Riverbend Development.

Red Light Management and the Bama Works Fund of Dave Matthews helped donate space and funding to help create this clinic.
