CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) - The James Madison women’s basketball team started its conference schedule with a win on Sunday, as the Dukes defeated Towson 89-85 at the Atlantic Union Bank Center in Harrisonburg.
JMU fell behind by as many as 15 points in the 2nd half, but sophomore Kiki Jefferson fueled the comeback, scoring a career-high 24 points, and grabbed a game-and season-high 11 rebounds.
Jefferson scored 16 points in the 4th quarter alone, which equaled the Tigers’ output in the final frame.
Rayne Tucker added a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds, which matches her career-high.
James Madison (5-3, 1-0 CAA) will be back in action at Towson on Tuesday.
