CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) - Ever since Georgia Athletic Director Greg McGarity announced his decision to retire, Carla Williams has been mentioned as his possible successor.

And with good reason.

Williams is a Georgia alum, and she was the deputy director of athletics at UGA, before taking the job as the Director of Athletics at Virginia.

But WIlliams put an end to any further speculation on Friday, and reaffirmed her commitment to the Cavaliers on social media.

She described UVA as, “One of the nation’s premier athletic programs, and one of the nation’s best academic institutions.”

Carla Williams was hired at Virginia in the fall of 2017.

Since that time, the ‘Hoos have won Eight ACC Titles, and three National Championships.
