CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) - The Virginia Tech football team lost its third game in a row on Saturday, as the Hokies fell 47-14 on the road at Pittsburgh.
The Panthers outscored Tech 24-0 in the 2nd half, and limited the Hokies to 3-of-11 on 3rd down, and 0-for-3 on 4th down.
Virginia Tech had 434 yards of Total Offense, but allowed Pitt to gain 556, including 404 yards passing.
The Hokies (4-5, 4-4 ACC) have lost four of their past five games.
The team is off next Saturday, and returns to action at home against No. 4 Clemson on December 5th.
Virginia Tech needs to beat the Tigers in that game, and beat UVA in the season finale, in order to avoid finishing with a losing record during the regular season for the first time since 1992.
