CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) - Tony Bennett and the UVA men’s basketball team have received a commitment from Rice University sophomore transfer Trey Murphy.

The 6-foot-8 forward averaged 13.7 points and 5.5 rebounds per game last season, while also shooting 37-percent from three-point range.

Murphy will have two years of eligibility remaining, and says he plans to redshirt in 2020-21, even if the NCAA grants immediate eligibility.
