CHARLOTTESVILLE, V.A. (WVIR) - Tonight will be the last night in the 20s for a while. Temperatures turn much milder as we head into the upcoming week. High temperatures each day will climb a little bit more, starting in the lower 50s and eventually reach near 60 by Christmas Eve. While that will be the warmest day, temperatures still look to remain above average for the remainder of the month.

At the same time, largely dry conditions will continue across the region. A system to our south will bring heavy and steady rain across much of the Southeast. This will bring nothing but a few additional clouds to our area over the next couple of days. Overall, it looks like sunshine will win out most days through next Saturday.

Tonight: Partly cloudy. Cold. Lows in the 20s.

Tomorrow: Partly sunny. Milder. Highs in the low 50s. Lows in the low 30s.

Monday: Partly to mostly sunny. Nice. Highs in the mid 50s.

Tuesday, Christmas Eve: Mostly sunny, pleasant. Highs near 60.

Wednesday, Christmas Day: Partly sunny. Nice. Highs in the mid 50s.

Thursday: Variable clouds. Highs in the 50s.

Friday: Variable clouds. Highs in the 50s.
