Sex-In Defendant to Serve 2 Years in Jail

The Augusta County teen accused of so-called "sexing" a 15-year-old girl into a gang will spend two years in jail as punishment.

A judge sentenced 18-year-old Shaun Sams to 15-years in prison with all but 13 years suspended. Last October, Sams pleaded guilty to gang participation and recruitment. A third charge of carnal knowledge with a minor was dropped as part of the plea agreement.

Sams had sex with a 15-year-old as part of her gang initiation last March.
