Construction work is underway on Pantops for a new church.

Crews got to work clearing land for the Point Church early Tuesday, January 8.

The church has been searching for a home for nearly a decade. A year ago, it acquired the land at the corner of Rolkin and Hansen roads, behind the Giant grocery store in Albemarle County

Pastor Gabe Turner says Tuesday’s work represents the culmination of his congregation's hard work and prayers.

Construction is expected to take between 12 and 16 months, depending on the weather.
