CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) -

A pro-life group sang Christmas carols outside of the Planned Parenthood on Hydraulic Road in Charlottesville.

The caroling was part of a nation-wide effort with Pro-Life Action League’s ‘Peace in the Womb’ activity.

The activity is said to bring the message of peace and joy to the darkness of the abortion clinic.

Members said it's an attempt to remind mothers entering the clinic that every child has a purpose in the world.

"So we're hoping that anyone who might be coming to planned parenthood abortion clinic today who is undecided about their decision to have an abortion, might hear these songs about Christmas, about Jesus and change their mind,” said Elizabeth Wilkinson with Peace in the Womb.

Events such as these occur throughout the month of December across the nation.
