Some Charlottesville shoppers were in for a nice surprise as one community group picked up their tab at Reid's Market in the name of holiday giving.

Members of the Buffalo Soldiers of Charlottesville paid it forward Saturday, December 8: Led by Estee Williams, the group paid for $500 worth of groceries.

“I just came and picked up some stuff from Reid’s, and the man told me to get in front of him and paid for my groceries and that's a blessing,” said Dorothy Rush.

“It’s just to give back to the community,” Williams said.

The Buffalo Soldiers of Charlottesville say they plan to continue to surprise people at Reid’s by dropping in and paying for their groceries two times throughout the year.
