ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (WVIR) -

One member of the Albemarle County School Board is going the extra mile for the students and parents he serves.

On Wednesday, December 5, Steve Koleszar held a community town hall at Cale Elementary School for parents, students, and school administrators.

Koleszar says he wants to hold informal meetings with the school community to get a better perspective on potential issues.

"There have been a lot of controversial issues and things that we have been working on over the last few months, and there seemed to be a lot of people who wanted to talk, so I thought it would be nice to have a more informal setting for talking,” Koleszar said.

The Albemarle County School Board will have a formal meeting on Thursday, December 6, at 6:30 p.m. in Lane Auditorium.
