Community Investment Collaborative Holds 9th Resource Fair for Entrepreneurs

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) -
A Charlottesville nonprofit with the mission of helping with economic development is doing its part to make sure entrepreneurs are successful in the community. The Community Investment Collaborative (CIC) held its 9th Resource Fair for area entrepreneurs at CitySpace Tuesday.
Volunteers ranged from accountants to attorneys to marketing professionals who decided to donate their time to help people thrive in their business.
The CIC says business owners usually don't seek advice and support they need as they're getting started because it's too expensive. That is one reason why it hosted the Resource Fair, to pair entrepreneurs with experts to get one-on-one advice.
“I gained a lot of knowledge, additional knowledge, in marketing for my business,” said entrepreneur Delores Roberts. “I got a lot of helpful insight from CIC and I'm very anxious and very excited to get started on the next chapter for it.”
Experts who volunteered for the fair say it is important for people to live out their dreams and they were there to help entrepreneurs execute those ideas and goals.
Organizers say they hope entrepreneurs see how valuable investing in experts can be for their business. The group says getting that advice can help you avoid chaos and crises that might otherwise come up.
