'Friends' isn't leaving Netflix after all

Posted: Updated:

Good news, gang, your Friends will still be there for you on Netflix in 2019.

Some fans of the classic sitcom were worried the show was going to be cut from Netflix at the start of the new year. That's because a notice on the streaming service said that episodes would only be available until January 1, 2019.

However, an executive with links to the Friends contract told USA Today the show will continue to be available next year.

Could we *be* any more happy?!?!

There is a catch though. It is unknown how much longer the show will remain on Netflix given that WarnerMedia, the content company that owns the rights to Friends, is set to launch its own streaming service late next year.

Fans took to Twitter to express their frustration if the show were to leave Netflix.

The controversy highlights a problem consumers will face soon. How many streaming services are you willing to pay for?

Last week Netflix canceled Daredevil, a move that most saw as a response to Disney's upcoming launch of their own streaming platform.
