CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) -

Common Ground Healing Arts is helping support Fluvanna Correctional Center for Women by starting its very first yoga class.

ARTCHO is an annual festival with artwork, music, food trucks, and drinks.

The festival, held at IX Art Park in Charlottesville, offered free art classes with mask painting and decorating.

Sigrid Eilertson, the co-founder of ARTCHO says yoga is an important part of overall health.

"Especially in the prison system, people - especially women - need that mind-body connection that a lot of people are missing with the hustle and bustle of the world, you know, and it's just really important to integrate your mind and your body and you can also do that through art,” Eilertson said.

All of the donations and proceeds will go toward Common Ground Healing Arts and the yoga teacher training at the Fluvanna Correctional Center for Women.
