The Augusta County Board of Zoning Appeals has denied Dominion Energy's request to use land near west Augusta as a home base for the Atlantic Coast Pipeline.
According to our partners at the News Virginian, the board voted four to one on Thursday, November 1, to deny the permit alleging community concerns.
The board had tabled the vote on two previous occasions. The first time members said they wanted more information, and the second time they were missing two board members.
About 55 miles of the Atlantic Coast Pipeline go through Augusta County.
This is the second time the board has denied a request, the first was for a storage yard in the Churchville area.
