JMRL’s Local Voices Program Holds Author Fair

One very special love story was shared at the Author Fair at Jefferson Madison Regional Library over the weekend.

The library hosted the Author Fair for their Local Voices Project, which allows writers from the area to put their books in circulation.

One of the featured books, “Who Am I If You’re Not You” by author Lynn Thorne, tells the story of Jen, and her partner Marc, who is transgender. Jen says she hopes making their story accessible can help others.

“I felt very alone and just like I didn't have anybody I could lean on and I think it's important that people know that they're not alone. There are other couples and other individuals out there that are going through life transitions like this and that it can be OK,” she stated. “It's just important to know that no matter what you're going through it can be okay and you're not alone and when you need support and you need someone to lean on there are people out there and there are books out there and there are movies out there that can really help.”

“Who Am I If You’re Not You” can be found at the central library. For more information visit the Jefferson Madison Regional Library website.
