Two West Main Restaurants Closed Due to Ceiling Collapse

Posted: Updated:

Two restaurants along Charlottesville’s West Main Street are dealing with the aftermath of a ceiling collapse.

The ceiling of Continental Divide fell in Thursday night. A man who works nearby says it happened around 10 p.m. when people were inside, but no one was hurt.

Parallel 38, which is in the same building, did not have any visible damage but it was forced to close until a structural engineer can ensure the location is safe.

Investigators are still determining why the ceiling in Continental Divide collapsed.

There is no word on how long the restaurants may be closed.
