The man accused of plowing through a group of counter demonstrators following the 2017 Unite the Right rally went before a judge Tuesday afternoon.

Attorneys involved in the case against James Alex Fields, Junior are finalizing details for his upcoming trial. They met with Judge Richard Moore behind closed doors at Charlottesville Circuit Court Tuesday, October 9. Fields was present for the meeting, as well.

Prosecutors say Fields injured dozens and killed Heather Heyer. He is charged with first-degree murder, and several malicious wounding charges. The Ohio man is also facing federal charges in connection with the same incident last summer.

Following Tuesday's meeting, Judge Moore announced the pretrial conference involved representatives from the Circuit Court Clerk's Office, Charlottesville Sheriff's Office and City Hall.

The judge said the meeting was strictly for administrative and housekeeping items.

Lawyers had also met last week to discuss jury selection and logistics.

A three-week jury trial is scheduled to begin on November 26.
