ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (WVIR) -

The Virginia Department of Transportation is hosting three special hearings this week on plan for Albemarle County.

At these meetings, VDOT will be asking the public for opinions on six projects throughout the county. The projects include a diverging diamond intersection at I-64 and Route 250 as well as a ramp change at Route 29 and I-64.

“The goal of most of these projects is to improve safety and reduce congestion for drivers to make sure that we can improve safety and keep our intersections safe while also getting people to where they need to go as quickly as possible,” said VDOT communications coordinator Will Merritt.

The first hearing will be at Monticello High School on Tuesday from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m.
