AUGUSTA COUNTY, Va. (WVIR) -

The latest chapter in the saga surrounding the construction of the Atlantic Coast Pipeline played out on Thursday.

Dominion Energy wants to build a pipeline staging area in Augusta County, but the request has yet to receive a yes or no. ACP project manager Ron Baker understands the perception of the pipeline, but is determined to find a place for it.

“I’m not going to stand up here and tell you that everybody should be excited to have it. I get it’s going to be uncomfortable,” Baker said. “Even if it’s in another county, we will find somewhere to yard.”

The board is expected to vote on the issue at its next meeting, which is taking place November 1 at 1:30 p.m. The chair of the board says members are still accepting written input from the community.
