Sunday the Ivy Creek Foundation hosted its first fall talk featuring an expert in environmental law to discuss the Endangered Species Act.

Those participating had the opportunity to learn more about how the act works, as well as potential changes that may be made by the current administration.

“We just want to help people learn about different things associated with our natural area with the property itself, on the cultural side as well as the natural side for natural history, so this is a pretty important natural history type topic,” said Kate Mallek of the Ivy Creek Foundation.

Sunday’s discussion was held at the Ivy Creek Education Building at 1780 Earlysville Road.

The Ivy Creek Foundation plans to host several other talks this season. The next discussion about water quality and restoration is scheduled for October 14. Click here for more information.
