Hundreds of people are celebrating the future filmmakers of America at an event at Charlottesville’s Paramount Theater.

On Friday, September 14, the Light House Studio Annual Youth Film Festival celebrated a variety of films that were made by students in the Charlottesville area over the course of the past year.

Students say the event is a chance to celebrate all their hard work.

“It’s creative expression, it’s just a lot of fun to get a group of really creative, talented people together and make something kind of special, and I think Light House is very special,” Alexander Gaither, one of the students, said.

Many of these films will go on to be featured at national film festivals.

The festival is the group's largest fundraiser of the year.
