CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) -

Charlottesville police were back at the scene of a shooting that had occurred in the area of Albemarle Street Friday night.

Authorities found a pistol along Concord Avenue around 9 a.m. Saturday, August 11.

Officers on the scene Friday night said one teenage boy was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries from a gunshot wound.

Witnesses said they saw nearly a dozen boys fighting in the street before hearing gun shots.

Investigators had found two shell casings Friday night, but said the shooter is still at large.

There is no suspect description at this time.

08/11/2018 Release from the Charlottesville Police Department:

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA - On August 10, 2018 at approximately 11:19 p.m., the Charlottesville Police Department responded to the area of Albemarle Street for possible gun shots.

While checking the area an officer located a teen male victim standing in the intersection of Concord Avenue and Albemarle Street bleeding from his upper body.

An officer provided first aid to the victim, who was later transported to the University of Virginia Medical Center Emergency Room with non-life threatening injuries.

Investigators and evidence technicians also responded to the scene for further follow-up. There is no suspect description at this time.
