ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (WVIR) -

People who live in Albemarle County had one final chance to weigh in on the Rio-Route 29 small area plan before it heads to the Albemarle County Board of Supervisors.

Attendees were briefed on design concepts for transportation, parks and amenities, building plans, and more.

They the attendees got the chance to provide feedback that will be shared with the board of supervisors and planning commission as the two groups consider incorporating these designs into the county's comprehensive plan.

“Any time you can include the public and what they want, that helps the process for everybody,” Ned Galloway, a county supervisor, said. “So then when a development comes forward, if it meets everything that they've done, the developer knows it’s going to be an easier process.

These design concepts were developed over the past two years.

If endorsed by the board of supervisors, the design concepts will be adopted as part of the county's comprehensive plan.
