Charlottesville Police Respond to Stabbing on University Avenue

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA - On July 23, 2018 at approximately 1232 hours Charlottesville Police Officers responded to a physical altercation with a weapon in front of the CVS store on University Avenue.

One of the involved males fled the scene before officers arrived, but was stopped near the scene by responding officers. Officers made contact with a male victim at the scene and discovered that he had been assaulted with a knife and received non-life threatening injuries. 

The suspect was identified as 37-year-old Michael Anthony Williams, II.  

Based on evidence collected at the scene, as well as victim and witness statements, Williams has been charged with Malicious Wounding. Mr. Williams is being held without bond at the Charlottesville/Albemarle Regional Jail.
