CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) -

Lauren Greenlief won the 93rd VSGA Women's Amateur Championship with a 2-and-1 victory against Amanda Hollandsworth in the Match Play finals on Thursday at Farmington Country Club in Charlottesville.

The victory marks back-to-back titles for Greenlief, as the former UVa golfer won the tournament for the first time in 2017.

"It's really special," says Greenlief.  "I remember we used to play out here every Thursday at Farmington when I was at UVa.  Farmington used to give me a really tough time.  It's a really hard golf course.  It has a lot of slope.  It was a little more receptive this week, but to come back to Charlottesville, and beat a Hokie, and bring it home, is really special."

Hollandsworth is a rising senior at Virginia Tech, and she has finished as runner-up three-times in the VSGA Amateur.

Lauren Greenlief will be back in action at the U.S. Women's Amateur Championship on August 6-12 in Kingston, Tennessee.

The former Cavalier is competing in the national tournament for the sixth time in her career.
