CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) -
Taylor Ratliff won the 31st annual City Golf Championship from Meadow Creek Golf Club Sunday.
The STAB alum shot 70 on the day after shooting back-to-back 69's in the first two rounds.
Ratliff played in the final group of the City Championship last year and placed third.
The Virginia student says that winning the City Championship is something he's been working towards for the last five years.
"I know a lot of people around here so, it was nice to have everyone come out and watch the last hole," says Ratliff. "After 16, I pretty much knew, as long as I didn't like do anything bad, I pretty much had it, so it was a nice relaxing finish."
Defending champion A.J. Stouffer shot a final round 67, which was the best score of the day.
Stouffer, a Charlottesville high school graduate, placed second.
Ryan Muthiora shot a final round 73 and finished third.
