Albemarle County Appoints 7 New Assistant Principals across the Area

Posted: Updated:

Albemarle County Public Schools (ACPS) are announcing new leadership roles within the area's various schools.

ACPS appointed seven new assistant principals, who have all officially assumed their positions.

Five principals retired this year.

The newly appointed individuals will work with teachers on curriculum development as well as building relationships with students.

Jennifer Sublette, director of professional learning, said, "In all of these candidates we see amazing educators who have done a lot of work to put students first, to really work with teachers to help them meet their goals for student opportunities. So we have teacher leaders and young administrators who have helped us close achievement gaps."

Five assistant principals will be assuming new roles, and some of them will be moving to new schools for the upcoming school year.
