WAYNESBORO, Va. (WVIR) -

A Waynesboro nonprofit is hoping to raise money to continue to rescue cats in the Shenandoah Valley.

Nita Lewis started the Rummage for Rescue Benefit Shop, which features electronics, cookware, animal toys and a variety of other used goods.

All of the proceeds from shop sales go towards helping Spay/Neuter Inc. pay for medical care for rescued cats and kittens.

Lewis said, "Their adoption fee doesn't cover their vetting, we lose money on every cat we adopt out, so this helps offset that a little bit."

The benefit shop is open every Saturday from 10a.m to 4p.m.

Lewis says she's also in need of volunteers to help sort donations.
