CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) -

Some of the best golfers in Central Virginia will be on the course at Meadowcreek Golf Club this weekend, for the 31st annual Charlottesville City Golf Championship.

A.J. Stouffer will be back to defend his title this year.

The recent Charlottesville High School graduate finished the three-day tournament at six-under par last summer, and won by eight strokes.

At just 17-years-old, he was the youngest winner in the history of the event.

Stouffer will be playing golf at Bridgewater College this fall.

The former Black Knight golfer is looking to become just the second competitor to win the tournament in back-to-back years.

Phil Mahone took the title in 2014 and 2015 to become the first golfer to win the championship in consecutive seasons.

A.J. Stouffer will tee off in the first group of the day on Friday at 8 A.M. at Meadowcreek Golf Club.
