CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) -

Hundreds of Charlottesville children and their parents touched some trucks on Saturday at IX Art Park as part of a fundraiser for the Montessori school.

The annual event is known as the Truck Touch and features police cars, ambulances, dump trucks, buses, and construction vehicles.

Organizers say it's a fun way for kids to interact with vehicles they see around the community while raising money for the preschool.

“It’s a whole lot of fun for families and kids so that’s a big goal of ours to just have an event that allows community members to be here and to come out and see all the fun trucks,” said Kate Duvall, a Montessori school parent.

The money raised at the event will go toward scholarships for families who otherwise cannot afford sending their kids to preschool.
