Charlottesville Man Sentenced to 3 Years in Prison for Attempted Robbery

STAUNTON, Va. (WVIR) -

A Charlottesville man is going to prison for attempted robbery in Staunton.

Thirty-three-year old Keith Rondale Johnson pleaded guilty to four charges in Staunton Circuit Court on Thursday, April 26.

Police say Johnson shot at two people last June during an attempted robbery. Neither was hurt, and one victim returned fire and shot at Johnson.

Johnson initially faced 10 charges, including two counts of attempted murder. Thursday’s plea consisted of attempted robbery and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, among others.

Johnson was sentenced to three years in prison.
