They say every dog has its day, but Wednesday was definitely not that day for Harry, a Boston Terrier in Rotonda, Fla.
According to Charlotte County Animal Control, Harry found himself in a bit of trouble after getting stuck in a gopher tortoise's burrow.
Harry's curiosity rivals that of a cat's because the poor guy ended up nearly 10 feet deep into the tunnel.
Luckily for the pup, a concerned citizen called animal control for help.
Officer Enriquez of Charlotte County Animal Control responded to retrieve the dog, but he was so far deep that she needed back up.
So, Englewood Fire Department and a Charlotte County deputy came to assist.
The crew was able to pull Harry out, and animal control said he nor the tortoise suffered any injuries.
Sometimes it takes a village, but kudos to the teamwork of Charlotte County Animal Control, Sheriff's Office, and the Englewood Fire Department for saving Harry and giving the tortoise his home back.
