A study by WalletHub named Florida the second best state in the country for singles.
According to the study, WalletHub compared all 50 states across three key dimensions:
- Dating Economics
- Dating Opportunities
- Romance & Fun
Dating economics was evaluated using 11 different metrics including average beer and wine price, movie costs, hair care costs, job growth rate, and unemployment rate.
Dating opportunities used six different metrics such as share of single adults, gender balance, and online and mobile dating opportunities.
Romance and fun were evaluated based on 10 metrics like access to bars, number of attractions, restaurants per capita, and cybercrime rate.
Using those three dimensions, Florida ultimately ranked second behind California. New York ranked third, Texas ranked fourth, and Pennsylvania rounded out the top five.
Arkansas ranked last in the study.
So, where did Florida rate in the individual dimensions?
The Sunshine State ranked third overall for dating opportunities, 35th for dating economics, and third for romance and fun.
WalletHub also conducted the same study, but for U.S. cities.
The best city in Florida for singles is Tampa Bay, according to the study. Tampa ranked 11th out of 182 cities.
Other Florida cities on the list include:
St. Petersburg (67th)
Fort Lauderdale (86th)
Port St. Lucie (146th)
Cape Coral (166th)
