Internet mocks Oregon for not knowing how to pump gasPosted: Updated:
The people of the internet recently had a field day at the expense of Oregonians.
A Facebook post by a CBS station in Medford, Ore. asking if Oregon should allow self-serve gas stations across the state went viral. Oregon is one of two states that does not allow customers to pump their own gas.
The post has garnered nearly 50,000 comments. At the start, commenters consisted of concerned Oregonians, but not soon after the rest of the country took over hilariously.
Some around the country were baffled by the fact that some in Oregon don't even know how to pump gas, while other sarcastically provided detailed instructions on how to safely complete the task.
According to the Associated Press, a new law allowing self-serve gas stations in rural counties took effect at the start of the new year. The law states impacts Oregon counties with 40,000 residents.
