Texas Rangers pitcher Cole Hamels and his wife, Heidi, are donating their $9.75 million mansion to charity.
In a post on The Hamels Foundation's website, Cole and Heidi Hamels are gifting their 32,000-square-foot home on Table Rock Lake in Branson, Mo. to Camp Barnabas.
Camp Barnabas is a non-profit organization making dreams come true for those with special needs and chronic illnesses.
"Seeing the faces, hearing the laughter, reading the stories of the kids they serve; there is truly nothing like it," Cole Hamels said. "Barnabas makes dreams come true, and we felt called to help them in a big way."
According to Realtor.com, the Hamels had been trying to sell the mansion for $9.75 million before opting to go the more charitable route. The website now lists the home as "off-market."
The mansion is the largest gift in history for the 24-year-old organization, Camp Barnabas.
