Staunton Closes Downtown Streets for Weekend Events

NOVEMBER 10, 2017 — The City encourages those who plan to travel in the downtown area on Saturday, Nov. 11 to be mindful of the following street closures and plan travel routes accordingly:

Veterans Day Parade

The annual Veterans Day Parade will begin at 11:11 a.m. in downtown Staunton and the following streets will be closed from 9:30 a.m. to noon:

  • Augusta St., between Churchville and Johnson streets
  • Beverley St., between Jefferson and Market streets
  • Frederick St., between Coalter and Lewis streets
  • Lewis St., between Johnson and Frederick streets
  • New St., between Johnson and Frederick streets

Unity Walk

The following streets will be closed from 1 to 2:30 p.m. for a walk hosted by local church groups:

  • Central Ave., between Pump and Beverley streets
  • Beverley St., between Lewis and Market streets
  • Market St., between Beverley and Frederick streets
  • Augusta St., between Johnson and Frederick streets
  • New St., between Greenville Ave. and Frederick streets
  • Frederick St., between Augusta and Lewis streets
