The University of Virginia is highlighting the importance of high-tech learning.
UVA Data Science Institute hosted the third annual Datapalooza Friday, November 10. The event offered insight into how data science works and can be applied to a variety of projects and issues at the university and beyond. Those issues include social media, health care and business.
Some of the keynote speakers included experts from Google and the New York Times.
“Datapalooza is really a celebration of what's happening with respect to data science itself. So data science is now touching essentially every part of our economy and our lives,” said UVA Data Science Institute Director Philip Bourne.
Organizers said the overall goal is to improve human well-being through data.
