Lingerie thieves lead police on chase, car bursts into flames
A crime that began at Victoria's Secret ended in a car fire along a highway in St. Louis.
According to police, just after noon Wednesday, three women entered the Victoria's Secret store and took off with approximately $8,000 worth of merchandise.
Police tried to stop their car, and during the pursuit the driver hit a curb and blew out the tire.
Driving on an exposed rim, the suspects fled east with officers following them. Eventually, the driver pulled over and the car caught fire, likely due to the heat and sparks from the rims grinding against the roadway.
None of the suspects were injured and all three were taken into custody.
