Albemarle County Police Investigating Fatal Motorcycle Crash on Garth Road

ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (WVIR) -

A motorcyclist is dead in a crash involving several vehicles in Albemarle County.

It happened at the intersection of Garth Road and Free Union Road, near the Foxfield race track, just before 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 5.

Albemarle County police closed the area to traffic until 6:30 p.m. Saturday to investigate the multi-vehicle crash. No one else is hurt.

Police have not released the name of the male motorcyclist who died.

The Albemarle County Police Department responded to a multi-vehicle crash at the intersection of Garth and Free Union roads at approximately 2:50 pm Saturday, August 5. 

The crash involved a motorcyclist who has died from his injuries. There were no other injuries reported to other persons.

The roads are back open. No other information is available at this time.
