Ragged Mountain Natural Area
Councilors voted 3 to 2 in favor of creating a shared-use outdoor environment at the Ragged Mountain Natural Area.
Many people came out speak for and against allowing bikes along these trails.
Separate trails will be constructed for pedestrians-only and multi-use bicycle, jogging and walking that each circle the reservoir.
"Construction of these trails shall be constructed using best practices for environmental and safety. Three, a new planning map shall be developed within six months of this resolution and presented to council along with time frames and bench marks for implementation," City Councilor Kristen Szakos said.
Mike Signer says that this is a case where very good people can disagree on what the future of Ragged Mountain looks like.
But, that he believes the arguments for shared-use outweigh those against it.
