CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) -
After a day of turkey, stuffing and pie, some people were burning off some of those calories with early black Friday shopping.
The holiday shopping rush is starting earlier and earlier with a few stores in central Virginia even open all day Thanksgiving. We caught up with shoppers to see what's on their lists.
Souheil Nadri waited in the line outside best buy in Charlottesville for hours.
“Oh it's been awesome, we've been playing soccer, kind of like a family, you know, we're just all waiting in line, it's a friendly atmosphere,” said Nadri.
While Nadri hoped to make it home for Thanksgiving dinner. Other shoppers thought the waiting itself was an experience.
“I've never done this before and it sounds exciting,” said Sandy Robb.
At Best Buy, there was certainly one prize on everyone's mind.
“There's a TV in there I really want, that I'm hoping to get,” said Robb.
Big screen TV's were also the hot choice at K-Mart along with other expensive appliances like washers and dryers.
“If people love good deals, we're a really good store that provides a lot of good deals for folks,” said Anthony Palmer of K-Mart.
But shoppers weren't only looking to save on those big-ticket items.
“Oh I came across a Christmas sweater I was looking for, that was nice, found that,” said Nancy Wisdom, a shopper.
Wisdom is starting her Christmas shopping with decorations for her house and some Christmas tree ornaments.
While most stores are open well past midnight on Thanksgiving, she's not planning on taking advantage, she wanted to get home.
