An American bald eagle that was injured in a fight is now back in the wild thanks to some help from the Wildlife Center of Virginia.

The center's staff released it Wednesday at the Chippokes Plantation State Park in Surry County.

They included a transmitter so they can track its movements. The eagle was found with chest and soldier lacerations as well as other injuries from a fight with what they suspect was another eagle.

The injured bird was nursed back to health at the center's facility in Waynesboro.
