Three St. Anne's Belfield Seniors Sign National Letters of Intent
STAB's Brianna Tinsley, Joe Robertson & Jayla Davis sign National Letters of Intent
Three St. Anne's Belfield student-athletes have made plans to play in college. Brianna Tinsley, Joe Robertson and Jayla Davis all signed national letters of intent on Monday.
Robertson signed with Duke lacrosse. Robertson had a team-high 52 goals and 31 assists last year and will likely leave STAB as the school's all-time leading scorer. Now he's getting ready to play in the ACC at Duke.
Robertson says, "They didn't say when I'll play. They said nothing is given to you. I just got to go down there and work as hard as I can and just create the most opportunities as I can for myself, but I'm definitely looking to go down there and win a national championship".
Tinsley has signed with the UVa women's basketball program. Tinsley is a point guard who's a two-time All-State standout. Tinsley's family is excited she's staying close to home.
Tinsley says about the UVa coaches, "They said I'll have a chance at starting and being the next point guard, but it's up to me". Reporter: How does that make you feel? "Excited, like I want to get to work now".
Davis has signed with Sacred Heart in Connecticut for basketball. Davis, who has also been a track star at STAB says Sacred Heart's style of play fit her well.
Davis says, "Their tempo is like STAB's tempo so it will be a good fit for me. I can just jump in and do what I do. Yeah it's fast, it's always fast".
